Workshop Fortify: A Story and Study

In this workshop, Amy shares her family’s story of restoration and deliverance from multiple traumas and mental health challenges. In the summer of 2021, she spiraled into a mental health crisis and entered a spiritual battle that rocked her entire family. Then, a few months into her healing journey, her youngest daughter fell into deep depression and was tormented by frightening thoughts and images that were not her own. After a challenging and humbling process filled with God's mercies, provisions, and miracles, she and her family have been fully restored and continue to learn how to live a life FORTIFIED through true communion with God in Word and Spirit.

In her personal healing journey, Amy has learned that as people of BODY, SOUL, and SPIRIT, we must tend to the WHOLE BEING when seeking restoration and maintaining our freedom and health. She has experienced first hand how the GREATEST BATTLEFIELD is in the SOUL (mind, emotions, will, imagination). If we learn to FORTIFY our souls through the Word and Spirit of Christ and in the care of a healthy community, we can discern the true voice, heart, and wisdom of God in a world where deception and doubt is spreading like wildfire.

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

- 1 Thessalonions 5: 23-24

This workshop can be formatted as a series or a day retreat, depending on the needs of your group.

Amy will guide participants through scripture and engaging demonstrations as she shares honestly about her faith journey and how she and her family overcame the greatest fight of their lives to date.

In this workshop …

  • You will rediscover the POWER of GOD’s WORD and how it is truly a SWORD fashioned for us for such a time as this.

  • You will learn where the TRUE BATTLEFIELD is in the challenges we face.

  • You will gain understanding around WHY it is so crucial to FORTIFY YOUR SOUL and HOW to do it.

  • You will hear how HOLINESS is a precious and powerful gift from the Lord purposed for our protection and longevity in our faith walks.

  • You will REDISCOVER your Kingdom identity and the POWER inside you.

The world is changing and it is only going to get noisier, louder, and more distracting.

It’s time to fix our gaze on Jesus and to live out our Kingdom destinies on earth as it is in Heaven.

Back to the Garden

l a u n c h i n g
January 2025

Return to the Heart of Christ.

Learn to enter into true rest in Jesus, seek His presence, and discern His heart through visual art journaling.

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. James 4:8

As daughters and image bearers of God, who made the universe in all its intricate patterns, colors, movements, depths, and textures, we were born with a creative inheritance.

Whether you consider yourself an artist or not, you have the ability to imagine, create, and problem solve.

Your creativity is designed by God to flow from communion with Him.

Back to the Garden is a creative, soul nourishing gathering designed for teen girls and women of all ages to connect more deeply with themselves, with one another, and with God.

It is a retreat for the inner being, a time for heavy hearts to land, for honest thoughts to be tended, for souls to breathe, and for the Spirit of God to linger.

Back to the Garden was birthed from Amy’s experiences coaching, discipling women, and from walking out her own restoration journey after trauma.

She has learned the restorative power of going “back to the Garden” in Genesis, to the place where we first learn God’s heart and His intended purpose and design for humanity. The Garden of Eden is where we see God’s deep love for us, His design and desire for us to commune with Him, and our need to BE STILL and KNOW that HE is LORD.

Everything we do and create in life is intended to flow from intimacy with the Creator. Jesus made a way for us to remain tethered to His heart.

The challenge is keeping the inner self fortified in an increasingly broken, noisy world, constantly vying for our attention and consumption.

There is so much power in being still and sitting in God’s presence like a child, or like Mary, who chose Christ’s presence over people pleasing, performance, productivity, and perfectionism.

Engaging in prayer along with creative practices, like painting, crafting, and writing, quiets our souls, takes us out of the hurried life, and postures us into childlike faith.

In the Back to the Garden experience, participants will …

  • Learn practical and creative ways to quiet the soul and connect with God.

  • Enter into God’s design of childlike faith, awe, and wonder.

  • Learn to move with intention while surrendering to God’s leading.

  • Make new memories with one another and with the Lord.

A Back to the Garden gathering consists of up to 8 participants and can look something like this:

  1. Breaking Bread Together (30 mins) - During this time, participants can enjoy a grazing board and an assortment of teas, coffee, and drinks in a casual atmosphere. Amy will facilitate conversation with a few fun and also meaningful questions designed to develop connection.

  2. Activity / Ice Breaker (30 mins) - This will be a fun and engaging art activity or process the group will experience together.

  3. Visual Art Journaling and Prayer (1 hour) - Amy will guide participants through a Scripture and Spirit led process using certain art mediums (such as watercolor) and written words. The first section (My Heart) will focus on recognizing one’s state of soul. A possible prompt can look like this:

Pray. Ask God to rule over your mind, heart, and imagination. Ask Him to search your heart, to show the deepest parts within you and reveal whatever He wants you to know. Ask Him to show you what colors to choose to express His heart.

Choose any color from the watercolor palette and begin to apply them onto the paper. Then, journal some words that come up when I ask you what’s on your heart.

The next section (God’s Heart) will focus on seeking the Lord, entering into His presence, and blessing Him. Prayer and listening to Holy Spirit is weaved throughout the whole process.

A possible prompt for this can look like this:

Pray. Ask God to reveal what’s on His heart. Ask Him to give you colors and an image. Follow the Spirit’s leading. He might show you one small detail first. Trust Him. Go with that one detail. Draw or paint it, and trust He will show you the next thing. Ask for it and trust Him to lead you to the full picture. And don’t forget to relax and just enjoy the process. He is a very good and loving Father who delights in watching His children take joy in creating something.

  4. Reflection (30 mins..or however long God leads) - Participants will share with one another what they discovered.

  5. Praise God and pray for one another.
